Fall Schedule Announced for Women's Tennis

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah women's tennis team will participate in its first fall tournament on Sept. 24-26 at the Cal Fall Invitational in Berkley, California. This will be the first of seven tournaments the Utes are slated to participate in this fall. 
 
Following the Cal Fall Invitational this weekend, Utah will be coming back to Salt Lake City for the Utah Invitational on Oct. 1-3.
 
In the ITA Women's All-American Championships, head coach Ric Mortera will have one competitor, Madeline Lamoreaux. The ITA Women's All-American Championship takes place from Oct. 4-10 in Charleston, South Carolina.
 
Utah heads to Las Vegas on Oct. 14-17 to participate in the ITA Mountain Regionals. The regional doubles champion and the regional singles champion and finalists qualify for the ITA National Fall Championships in San Diego, California, from November 4-7.
 
Senior Anastasia Goncharova collected Pac-12 All-Conference honors last season as she was named to the honorable mention team. She achieved the team-high in singles wins (8) and collected nine doubles wins during the 2020-21 season. 
 
Utah has six members returning from last year's team, Emily Dush, Anastasia Goncharova, Lindsay Hung, Anya Lamoreaux, Madeline Lamoreaux, and Madison Tattini. Katya Hersh returns to the team this season after redshirting last season. Linda Huang and Samantha Horwood join the Utes this season. Huang comes to Utah a graduate transfer from Rice, while Horwood is a freshman from Toronto. 
 
The Utes will close out their fall slate on Nov. 12-14. The team will participate in the San Diego Fall Classic II and the UNLV Fall Classic II.
