Red Rock Rookies: Amelie Morgan

Sep 24, 2021

Amelie Morgan comes to Salt Lake City all the way from Bristol, England, where she was a member of the four-gymnast Team Great Britain at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Morgan helped guide Team GB to the first women's team Olympic medal since 1928 after a phenomenal uneven bars routine pushed the team to a third-place finish for the bronze medal. The British National Team member earned her first major championship medal at the 2021 European Championships, earning the bronze medal on bars while also finishing fourth on beam and in the all-around.

The Ute freshman became the first British junior in history to win five medals at the Junior European Championships in 2018 when she helped the team earn a bronze medal and individually went on to earn silver medals in the all-around and on beam, along with bronze medals on vault and floor. She began her senior career with gold medal winning performances in the all-around and on beam at the 2019 English Championships, and bronze medals on bars and floor. Morgan was also the bronze medalist in the all-around and on bars and beam at the 2019 British Championships.

At the 2018 British Championships, Morgan won gold medals on vault, bars, floor and in the all-around, while claiming the bronze medal on beam. She was also selected to represent Team Great Britain at the Youth Olympic Games in 2018 where she earned the silver medal in the all-around and floor, and the bronze medal on beam.
