Softball is Back! Maroon and Gold Scrimmage Friday

TEMPE, Ariz. - The annual Sun Devil Softball Maroon and Gold inter squad game is set to be played Friday, Oct. 1 at Farrington Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m., with admission free to the general public. 
 
This will be the first opportunity for fans to see the 2021-22 team in action before their four-game fall season takes place with the opening game slated for October 9. 
 
The Sun Devils will have 15 returners this season including pitchers Lindsay Lopez and Allison Royalty. Joining them are outfielders Jazmine Hill, Makenna Harper, Yannira Acuña, Jordyn VanHook and infielders Makenna Harper, Alynah Torres and Bella Loomis. 
 
Harper, Hill and Lopez represented Arizona State on the 2021 Pac-12 All-Second Team. In her true freshman year, Royalty earned a spot on the 2021 Pac-12 All-Freshman team along with Hill and Lopez. 
 
Five fresh faces join the squad this season with three true freshmen and two SEC transfers, Jessica Puk and Jazmyn Rollin.
