Sun Devil Men's Hoops Full Schedule Announced by Pac-12

The Pac-12 Conference and its television partners have announced the 2021-22 men's basketball schedule, as the Sun Devils will open the conference season at home on Dec. 1 and close it at home on March 3.

ASU will open its seventh season under Bobby Hurley on Tuesday, Nov. 9, with a 5 p.m. Pac-12 Network tilt against Portland and will have two more home games before playing at San Diego State on Tuesday, Nov. 18.

OOC ON THE ROAD
The non-conference schedule includes road trips to two places where it is tough to play but Coach Hurley's squads have won there already, San Diego State (Nov. 18) and Creighton (Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. CT on FS1). ASU is 8-2 in non-conference road games under Coach Hurley, as it was 8-22 in its previous 30 OOC road tilts. Both San Diego State and Creighton made the 2021 NCAA Tournament with Creighton falling to Gonzaga in the Sweet Sixteen. SDSU enters 2021-22 having won an average of 24.8 games the last 16 seasons (including nine NCAA Tournaments that would have been nine in 2019-20) and has won the Mountain West Championship regular season title five of the past eight years.

THE TERRITORIAL CUP SERIES MATCHUPS
Arizona State and Arizona will meet twice in 21 days in January, with the Wildcats visiting Tempe on Saturday, Jan. 8 and then a trip Tucson on Jan. 29.
 


ABOUT ATLANTIS
Sun Devil basketball under Bobby Hurley has had some solid success in the exempt tournaments in his six seasons, with a pair of Las Vegas championships and quality wins each season. The program will get its chance again in November of 2021, with a game against the defending NCAA Champion Baylor Bears slated for a 7:30 p.m. ET tip on ESPN2 in the Bahamas. Tournament tickets and reservations are available now at atlantisbahamas.com/battle4atlantis. Atlantis Paradise Island is resuming the Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis this year for a tenth time as ASU will be a part of it for the first time. It will be held Nov. 24-26 including a full schedule on Thanksgiving (Nov. 25). ASU and Baylor join Auburn, UCONN, Loyola-Chicago, Michigan State, Syracuse and VCU in the field.

ESPN COVERAGE
ASU will have at least 11 games on an ESPN network. All the games in Atlantis will be on an ESPN channel as well as eight Pac-12 games.

HELLO FS1 AND FOX
The Sun Devils will four games -- three on the road -- on FS1, starting with their game at Creighton Dec. 14. The Jan. 1 game at UCLA will tip at noon PT on FOX.

CBS
The Sun Devils game at Arizona on Jan. 29 will be ASU's first CBS regular season game since the March 9 72-64 win in Tucson.

NOVEMBER HAS BEEN GOOD
The Sun Devils have been super good in November under Coach Hurley -- 18-3 (.857) the past four seasons. The program captured November titles in Las Vegas at the 2017 Continental Tire Invitational and at the 2018 MGM Resorts Main Event.

COMPETING AGAINST DUDES
Villanova last year was the seventh top-10 non-conference opponent Bobby Hurley  played in his six years. ASU faced one in the previous 17 seasons.
