Men’s Tennis Prepares for Idaho State Invite and ITA All-American

SALT LAKE CITY – After a successful competition at the ITA Regional Championships, the Utah Men's Tennis program will hit the road this weekend for two tournaments. Beginning Friday, October 1, 2021, the Utes will participate in the Idaho State Invitational tournament.
 
Utes who qualified for the ITA All-American Championships will head to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to play the tournament on Saturday, October 2, and ending on Sunday, October 10, 2021.
 
The Idaho State Invitational is set to take place in Pocatello, Idaho, and will go on until Sunday, October 3, 2021. Here the Utah men will face players from BYU, Montana, Idaho State, and Montana State.

The ITA All-American Championships brings qualifying players from all over the country to compete for the Singles Main Draw and the Doubles Main Draw titles and will resume this year after it was canceled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
 
This tournament will see Utes Franco Capalbo and Geronimo Busleiman in both the singles and doubles competitions. After taking first place at the ITA Regionals and awarding Utah with the first title since 2015, No. 98 Capalbo will compete for the Singles Main Draw. Teammate Busleiman will compete in the Singles Qualifying Draw. Both players, ranked 34th in ITA doubles rankings, will also compete in the Doubles Main Draw.
