Utah Lacrosse To Play Two Fall Games Sunday, Oct. 3

Sep 30, 2021

SALT LAKE CITY – Fall ball is here as the University of Utah Lacrosse team is ready to hit the field against Colorado Mesa and Westminster College on Sunday, Oct. 3 at Dumke Field on the Westminster campus.

The Utes will get started Sunday morning against the Colorado Mesa Mavericks at 11 a.m. MT, followed by a 1 p.m. MT start against the Griffins that afternoon. Attendance for both games is free.

Sunday will be Utah's only fall games with the Utes ushering in a new era with head coach Andrew McMinn taking the helm on Aug. 24, 2021. McMinn is set to guide the Utes into their first season in the ASUN in 2021-22 after the Utes became an affiliate member earlier this year.

McMinn spent 10 seasons at the helm of Robert Morris Lacrosse with the Colonials securing seven winning seasons, 54 All-NEC selections, six conference player of the year awards and five All-Americans under his direction. He was also RMU's all-time coaching wins leader, earning NEC Coach of the Year twice.

McMinn also added Sean Doyle to the 2021-22 Utah Lacrosse staff after Doyle spent the last two seasons as an assistant for McMinn at Robert Morris. He saw the Colonials have back-to-back winning seasons, defeating four ASUN conference teams in 2021. Doyle was a team captain at Robert Morris under McMinn with over 60 games played.
