Richardson Vies For Titles Sunday In Moraga

MORAGA, Calif. – Cal women's tennis junior Erin Richardson could walk away with two titles on Sunday at the Saint Mary's Fall Invitational, as the Golden Bear plays in the top-flights singles semifinals and – with Cami Brown – in the consolation doubles final at the Korth Tennis Center.
 
On Saturday in the A singles draw, Richardson defeated Fresno State's Pang Jittakoat, 6-2, 6-7(4), 6-3, in the round of 16 and beat the Gaels' Gabriela Tevez, 6-1, 6-2, in the quarterfinals. The Bournemouth, England, product will face Colorado's Antonia Balzert in one semifinal on Sunday at 9:30 a.m.
 
Also playing in the A singles round of 16, Cal senior Julia Rosenqvist – ranked 106th – lost to Fresno State's Matilde Magrini, 6-3, 6-1.
 
In the semifinals of the A doubles back draw, Brown and Richardson topped the Saint Mary's duo of Olivia Rook and Julia Ronney, 8-5, to reach Sunday's final.
 
The A doubles main draw also featured a Cal pair in the semifinals. But Julia Rosenqvist and Makenna Thiel fell to FSU's Jittakoat and Dalia Ahmed, 8-3.
