Women’s Tennis Wraps Up Day Two of Utah Invite

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah women's tennis team had yet another successful finish on the second day of the Utah Invite. The Utes were able to take eight matches out of the nine that they played. 
 
The Utes were once again able to win every doubles match against Weber State. Madison Tattini/Emily Dush defeated Yunna Ukita and Ana Morett, 8-3. Anya Lamoreaux/Samantha Horwood downed Megan Davies and Sicely Ferreira, 8-2. Lindsay Hung and Katya Hersh finished off the double wins for Utah with an 8-5 win over Megan Lombardi and Patty Kuo. 
 
Utah defeated Utah State in five of its singles matches on Saturday. Dush, Tattini, Horwood, Hung, and Hersh started their mornings with a win against the Aggies. Tattini defeated Lisa Kung, 6-3, 6-1, while Dush was a 6-3, 6-1 winner. Hersh came away with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Brooke Bemerath. Hung and Horwood came away with victories as well for the Utes. Hung was a 6-4, 6-1 winner over Carolina Millian, while Horwood was a 6-2, 6-1 winner over Zeynep Ozturk. 
 
The Utes will go back out for their last day of the Utah Invite, Sunday, Oct. 3. Singles will begin at 9 am against the New Mexico Lobos, and Utah will finish their tournament off with doubles play against Utah State, starting at 12 pm.
