Cats Win Two Championship Matches in Arizona Invite

TUCSON, Ariz. - The Wildcats capture two championship wins in their home tournament on Sunday. The two doubles pairs of the Wildcats put on spectacular performances to remain unbeaten in doubles on the weekend.

Gustaf Strom and Conner Olsen battled Prieto and Samaha from New Mexico in the finals of the Red Doubles Draw and came away with a 6-4 win. Olsen would go on to win his second singles win of the tournament against Prieto in straight sets to close out the tournament. Jared Horwood could not compete in the finals, but Hiroki Sakagawa still prevailed with the help of NMSU's Ford as his partner. 

In the ITA All-American Championships, Carlos Hassey continues to move up the draw to the Round of 32 after a straight set victory over the No. 8 seeded Mikhail Sokolovskiy. Hoeyeraal battled tough in the Round of 64, but fell to Conor Gannon of Tennessee.

Hassey will play again at Noon MST in the Round of 32 against Guillaume Dalmasso of Santa Clara.
