Katherine Muzi Leads USC Women's Golf's First-Day Efforts At Windy City Collegiate
Senior Kathrine Muzi completed 36 holes at 3-over to work herself into the top 10, leading the USC women's golf team's two-round, first-day efforts at the Windy City Collegiate on Monday (Oct. 4) at the Westmoreland C.C.
Much of the field failed to finish the second round due to darkness and teams will tee off at 7:30 a.m. CT to finish it ahead of the final round.
USC, whose freshman Cindy Kou has three holes still to play, are tied for 12th at 38-over in the 15-team field. Stanford leads at 7-over.
Muzi, seeking her second straight top 20 to start the season, is tied for seventh at 3-over 147 (72-75), six back of the clubhouse lead. She finished her first round with a pair of birdies to secure a par opening effort and was under par heading into the final two holes of her second round before two late doubles.
Kou is tied for 17th at 6-over. She was even in the first round today with three birdies and is 6-over through 15 of her second round.
Sophomore Brianna Navarrosa is tied for 27th at 7-over 151 (77-74), her steady second round seeing 1-over front and back nines.
Junior Alexa Melton is 79th at 23-over 167 (79-88) and sophomore Christine Wang is 83rd at 32-over 176 (89-87).
