SEATTLE -- Junior Ewen Lumsden came up short today in his second round qualifying match at the ITA All-American Championships, one day after an impressive win over a ranked opponent in his opener. Lumsden had a three-set loss today against Harvard's Harris Walker.
After knocking off USC's 107th-ranked Bradley Frye on Monday, Lumsden continued his fine play with a 6-2 opening set win against Walker. But after that Walker turned things around, and took the second and third sets by 6-1 scores.
An All-Pac-12 honorable mention one year ago, Lumsden figures to be one of the leaders for the Huskies once again this spring.
The main draw of the All-American Championships will begin on Wednesday, with Husky junior Clement Chidekh set to make his singles season debut. Chidekh and Jack Davis went 1-1 in doubles qualifying on Monday.
