USC’s Stefan Dostanic, Bradley Frye Score Wins At ITA All-American

TULSA, OKLA. — USC junior Stefan Dostanic drummed up an upset win in the Round of 64 to advance in the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla.,  today. He'd follow that  up with another straight-set win in doubles alongside teammate Bradley Frye in the afternoon, pushing the pair through to the Round of 16. 

After barreling their ways through singles qualifying rounds, #68 Stefan Dostanic and #119 Lodewijk Weststrate both faced higher ranked foes today in the main draw Round of 64. Dostanic would upend UNC's #44 Brian Cernoch with a solid 6-4, 6-0 win, while Weststrate fell to Texas' #17 Micah Braswell 6-2, 6-4. Dostanic moves on to the Round of 32 with another top-50 foe in #38 Francisco Rocha of Middle Tennessee State bright and early tomorrow morning.

In doubles, the #17 Dostanic and Frye kicked off their ITA All-American journey by dealing out a smooth 6-4, 6-4 win over Florida's #57 Shelbayh/Siimar in the opening Round of 32. They'll now square off against Middle Tennessee State's #21 Motl/Slump tomorrow in the Round of 16.
