CORVALLIS, Ore. – After 690 days without fans in Gill Coliseum for a volleyball match, Oregon State volleyball welcomed 1,100+ fans on Friday night as the Beavers hosted No. 17 Stanford. OSU came close to taking the second set but wasn't able to close the gap to fall the Cardinal in three sets (16-25, 21-25, 12-25).
Oregon State was led offensively my senior Maddie Goings, who finished with nine kills off 33 attacks. Freshman Vivian Light followed by adding six kills, as junior Lindsey Schell rounded out the top three with four. Freshman Izzi Szulczewski finished the match with 20 assists and five digs while also adding in three kills of her own. Senior Grace Massey brought her career-dig total to 1,957 after finishing with 14 digs to lead OSU.
Stanford finished the match hitting .323 with 43 kills led by Caitie Baird, who finished with 14 kills. Kendall Kipp added an additional 11 kills for the Cardinal and four aces.
Match Notes
- Freshman DiLara Unal recorded a season-high three blocks to lead OSU (one solo, two assisted).
- Schell and Szulczewski added two blocks each as OSU finished with six total.
- For the first time this season, every player that saw time recorded at least one dig.
