Five Earn Wins at ITA All-American
TULSA, Okla. – Stanford sent five athletes to Tulsa, Oklahoma for the ITA All-American championship, combining for nine wins across singles and doubles action.
Tristan Boyer earned a team-leading three singles victories after advancing through the qualification round to earn a place in the main draw, while Arthur Fery reached the main draw round of 32 to pace the squad.
Boyer started the week with a win over No. 79 Mathis Ross from Texas A&M, and dispatched opponents from TCU and UCF to earn his spot in the main draw. Fery won in straight sets over Princeton's Justin Barki before dropping a battle to No. 24 Ronnie Hohmann from LSU, 6-3, 7-6 (5).
Max Basing made his Stanford debut, going 2-1 including a victory over No. 56 James Story from South Carolina. Alexandre Rotsaert won his opening match over Tulsa's Callum Gale, while Timothy Sah picked up a win over No. 85 Loris Pourroy in consolation action.
Two doubles pairs saw action, led by Fery and Rotsaert, who went 4-1 and advanced to the round of 16. The pair knocked off opponents from Wake Forest, Portland, Georgia and Princeton before falling in two sets to Oregon's 12th-ranked national pair. Boyer and Sah teamed up as well, but fell in the opening round to the 40th-ranked duo from Ohio State.
Stanford has four athletes competing this weekend at the UCSB Classic, while the full team will look ahead to ITA Regionals from Oct. 13-17.
