LOGAN, Utah – Utah cross country redshirt senior Natalie Platil paced the Women of Utah with an eighth-place finish at the Steve Reeder Memorial on a cold and chilly Friday at the Steve and Dona Reeder XC Course.

Sophomore Maddie Reed had a solid collegiate debut and concluded the race with a time of 20:09.2, which was good for 23rd overall. Emma Earl was the third Ute to cross the finish line, recording a time of 20:21.2 and was just outside the top-25 at 27th.

Freshman Maren Busath was the fourth Ute to complete the course, checking in with a mark of 20:49.4 while Kaitlyn Mercer (21:34.0) rounded out the group of racers for Utah.

The Utes will have a big week ahead as it travels to Tallahassee, Fla., for the FSU Invite/Pre-Nationals on Friday, Oct. 15, at 6:35 a.m. (MT). The Women of Utah will get a first-hand look at the host site of this year's NCAA Championships at Apalachee Regional Park and battle it out against 35 other teams – 10 of which are ranked in the latest USTFCCCA Top-30 ranking including No. 10 Utah.
