Beavers Cap Weekend With 2-0 Shutout Against Arizona

CORVALLIS, Ore.  – The Oregon State women's soccer team earned its fourth shutout of the season, defeating Arizona, 2-0, at Lorenz Field on Sunday. The Beavers' win over the Wildcats marked OSU's first since 2012. Oregon State now stands 11-2-0 (3-2-0 Pac-12) on the season and is 6-0 at Lorenz Field. 
 
"This team should be extremely proud of what they did today and how they performed all weekend," said head coach Lauren Sinacola. "We love being back home and we appreciate all of the support from Beaver Nation. We will stay focused and learn from these games and take the energy into this week of training. Go Beavs!" 
 
Junior Sophie Conrad marked her third goal of the season after she found the net with a header, assisted by senior Laura Galceran, to put the Beavers up 1-0 in the 11th minute of play. Sophomore Amber Jackson scored Oregon State's second goal at the 50-minute mark, finding the back of the net with an assist from junior Brianna McReynolds. Jackson has scored five goals so far this season. 
 
Between the pipes, senior Bridgette Skiba notched three saves. Skiba has earned three solo shutouts this season and has posted 11 over the course of her career.  The Beavers tallied four shots on goal out of 11 shots total and took five corner kicks over the course of the game.

The Beavers continue their home stretch as they host UCLA on Oct. 15 at 4 p.m. at Lorenz Field in Corvallis, Ore. The match will be broadcasted on the Pac-12 Network.
