Keremedchiev and Klöv-Nilsson Finish as Consolation Finalists at ITA All-Americans
TULSA, Okla. – The Oregon men's tennis doubles team of Ivailo Keremedchiev and Jesper Klöv-Nilsson were finalists in the ITA All-American doubles consolation bracket today, after winning four matches throughout the tournament.
Keremedchiev and Klöv-Nilsson lost a tough three-setter in the finals today, having entered the tournament in the main draw qualifying bracket. The tandem defeated Wisconsin (Pratt and Vile) 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10) and Oklahoma State (Zink and Hammond) 6-2, 7-6(1) in qualifying, earning a place in the consolation bracket.
The Ducks advanced to the finals with wins over Arizona (Eriksson Ziverts and Middleton) 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 (8) and Tulsa's No. 14 ranked pair of Pearson and Di Marco 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (6).
Oregon's doubles team of Charlton and Vandecasteele were semifinalists in the main draw, after wins over Arizona (Malbasic and Hoeyeraal) 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 (6) and Stanford (Fery and Rotsaert) 6-1, 6-4.
