Cougar Men set for Media Day in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO – Washington State men's basketball heads back to the Bay Area to take part in the annual Pac-12 Media Day, Wednesday, Oct. 13. Representing the Cougars at the event will be sophomore Efe Abogidi and junior Tyrell Roberts alongside of third-year head coach Kyle Smith.

The annual event can be followed live throughout the day on the Pac-12 Network along with on the Cougars' and the conference's social media platforms. On social media, Pac-12 Media Day can be tracked using the hashtag #Pac12Hoops. In addition, @WSUCougarMBB@Pac12 and @Pac12Network will have updates on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook throughout the day. 

Each team will take the main stage to answer questions from the media in attendance. There will be a media podium live stream Pac-12 Insider, the free, 24/7 streaming channel from Pac-12 Networks. The Cougars will take the podium at 11:45 a.m. 

In addition to the media the Cougs, along with the other 11 Pac-12 teams, will be featured live in studio on the Pac-12 Network with the Cougs making their way into the studio at 2:30 p.m. Additionally, the Cougs will be one of the featured teams during ESPNU's one-hour coverage of Pac-12 Media Day in the 3-o'clock hour with Coach Smith and Abogidi joining the studio hosts at 3:50 p.m.

Along with media day will come the preseason media poll, which will rank the teams from first-to-12th, as voted on by the media. The Cougars enter their third-year under Smith looking to take the leap into the upper-eschelon of the Pac-12. The Cougs return the bulk of their roster from the 2020-21 season while adding in a bevy of new players including four-transfers from around the country including Roberts who played two seasons at UC San Diego where he earned DII All-American honors.

Coverage of Basketball Media Days will be available across Pac-12 Networks, Pac-12 InsiderPac-12.com and the Pac-12 Now app.
