Women’s Tennis Heads to ITA Regionals

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah women's tennis program heads to the ITA Mountain Regionals, held from Oct. 13 to 17 at the Fertitta Tennis Complex on the UNLV campus. There will be more than 120 individuals competing this week. 
 
Utah will compete in singles and doubles during the ITA Regional. The regional doubles champion and the regional singles champion and finalists qualify for the ITA National Fall Championships, from November 4-7 in San Diego, California.
 
This will be the third straight Mountain Regional that the ITA women's event will be held in Las Vegas. Members from 20 western teams will face off as individuals from Wednesday through Sunday on 12 courts each day in singles and doubles.

In singles action, Linda Huang enters the tournament as the 3rd-seeded singles player in the draw. Emily Dush and Madison Tattini will team up to play in the doubles draw. The Utes duo is the 3rd-seeded team in the doubles draw. 

Utah will be one of 20 teams competing in the tournament this week. They will be competing against Air Force, Boise State, BYU, Colorado, Colorado State, Denver, Dixie State, Idaho, Idaho State, Montana, Montana State, Nevada, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Northern Arizona, UNLV, Utah State, Weber State, and Wyoming. 
 
Wednesday's first-round gets underway with Round of 64 doubles at 9:00 a.m. PT followed by a full Round of 64 singles – with two flights. There will be added matches in singles to ensure each entrant has at least two outings.
