Alatishe, Lucas Earn Preseason All-Pac-12 Recognition
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Warith Alatishe and Jarod Lucas earned preseason All-Pac-12 recognition as selected by the media, the conference office announced Wednesday.
Alatishe, a senior from Houston, Texas, averaged 9.5 points last season and finished second in the Pac-12 in rebounding (8.61), fourth in blocked shots (1.39), first in double-figure rebounding games (15) and second in double-doubles (9).
The 6-foot-8 forward was selected the Pac-12 Tournament Most Outstanding Player, becoming the first Oregon State player to receive the award, and was named Pac-12 All-Defensive Honorable Mention.
Lucas, a junior from Hacienda Heights, Calif., averaged 12.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 0.7 steals in 29.3 minutes per game last season. He was selected to the Pac-12 All-Tournament Team and named to the Pac-12 Winter Academic Honor Roll.
The 6-foot-4 guard set two Oregon State records last season -- single-season free throw percentage in all games (.896) and single-season free throw percentage in conference games (.905).
