Rowing Set for Two Regattas this Fall
PULLMAN, Wash. – Fall regattas are back this season for the Washington State rowing team, as the Cougars will compete in a pair of races to close out the month of October.
WSU will open its 2021 fall schedule Oct. 23, as the Cougars make the quick drive north to the Lilac City to compete in the Head of the Spokane. Washington State will row against Gonzaga, Oregon State and Loyola Marymount on the Spokane River. Races are set to begin at 9 a.m. PT.
After their season-opening regatta in Spokane, WSU heads down to the Golden State the next weekend to race against California on Oct. 30. The regatta against the Golden Bears will take place at the Briones Reservoir in Orinda, California. Race time against Cal will be set at a later date.
Washington State returns to fall racing for the first time since 2019, after the 2020 fall season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. WSU is coming off its 16th appearance at the NCAA Rowing Championships, as the Cougars finished 15th overall at the 2021 NCAA Rowing Championships in Sarasota, Florida.
