Bruins Compete at Pre-Nationals Meet at Florida State

Tallahassee, Fla. – UCLA Cross Country finished up its first of two weekend meets, toeing the line at the Pre-Nationals Meet in Tallahassee, Fla., the site of the upcoming 2021 NCAA Cross Country Championships.
 
The Bruin women secured a 25th-place team finish in a talented field of opposition. Gwyn George crossed as the team's first runner on the Apalachee Regional Park 6k course, finishing 106th overall with a time of 21:16.2. Emma Tavella was close behind in 10th place, finishing with a time of 21:18.3 for the 6k. Alyssa Bautista (21:40.0) and Audrey Allen (21:55.7) went 139-164, respectively, while Ashley Johnson finished 184th (22:14.7) to round out the Bruins' scoring five. Claire Selleck was UCLA's sixth runner, crossing with a time of 22:23.1 for 192nd place.
 
Peter Herold led the way for the Bruin men for the second-straight meet, coming away with a 67th-place finish and an 8k time of 23:59.6. Darius Riley followed closely in 69th place, crossing with a time of 24:00.8. Mason Ratkovich was the Bruins' third runner on the day, finishing 185th overall with a time of 24:52.2. Munir Kabbara (24:52.2) and Ronan McMahon-Staggs (25:19.4) went 218-236, respectively, to complete UCLA's scoring lineup. Ewan Macfarlane took 247th and crossed with a time of 25:27.6.
