After leading UCLA to a 2-1 win over No. 14 Loyola Marymount last week, freshman Aaron Edwards picked up a number of weekly awards from national and local outlets.

On Monday, Edwards was tabbed the College Soccer News National Player of the Week as well as the Pac-12 Player of the Week. He added to his awards tally on Tuesday, picking up UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week honors while being named to the Team of the Week for both College Soccer News and TopDrawerSoccer.

It was the first career time earning any of those honors for Edwards. He is the first Bruin to be named Pac-12 Player of the Week or CSN National Player of the Week since Milan Iloski accomplished the feat following a 3-2 win over Maryland on Sept. 6, 2019.

Edwards scored both of UCLA's goals in last Thursday's win over LMU. The pair of scores represented the first and second goals of Edwards's college career.

His first goal against the Lions came in the 69th minute, as he re-directed a Tucker Lepley cross from the right wing inside the far post for an equalizer.

Then in the 83rd, Edwards made a vertical run through the box to connect with a header off a corner kick for a go-ahead goal that stood up as the game-winner.

Edwards, who has operated mostly as a right back this season, has two goals and one assist for five points overall on the year.

Lepley recorded the primary assist on both of Edwards's goals against LMU, moving him into the team lead for scoring (4-4-12).
