Ducks Set for ITA Regionals

EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon will head down to the Bay Area for the ITA Northwest Regional, hosted by Stanford Oct. 22-26. All nine players on Oregon's roster will compete in singles play while the Ducks will have four pairs in the doubles draw. Regional doubles champions and the singles champion and runner-up advance to the ITA Fall National Championships, Nov. 4-7.

The Ducks are coming off of their fall-opening tournament at the Husky Invitational, where they took on DePaul, Portland State, Washington and Washington State in hidden dual matches. Oregon was led on the opening weekend by Ares Teixido Garcia and Sophie Luescher, who both went 3-0 in singles play. A trio of Ducks also went 2-1 in Seattle in Uxia Martinez Moral, Lillian Mould and Myah Petchey, while Allison Mulville won her only singles match of the weekend.
 
Oregon mixed and matched its doubles pairs all weekend, with no duo competing together more than once over the 12 doubles matches. Teixido Garcia and Misaki Kobayashi both went 2-1 in doubles play as the Ducks went 6-6 as a team over the weekend.
 
Following regionals, Oregon will compete in the Gonzaga Invitational, Nov. 5-7, while those who qualify for the ITA Fall National Championships will head to San Diego, Nov. 4-7.
