Men's Golf Finishing Fall at East Lake Cup on Golf Channel Monday-Wednesday

The Sun Devil men's golf squad -- coming off a victory at the Isleworth Invitational (Oct. 17-19) plays in the East Lake Cup Oct. 25-27 at historic East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, GA. Golf Channel will have coverage each day from 3-6 p.m. ET (Noon-3 p.m. in in Arizona).

The East Lake Cup features top-performing teams from the NCAA Men's and Women's Golf Championships. Modeled after the NCAA Golf Championships, the format for the East Lake Cup consists of an opening round of stroke play to crown an individual male and female champion and determine seeding for the following two days of match play competition. ASU will be joined by 2021 NCAA champion Pepperdine, Oklahoma State and Duke.

ABOUT EAST LAKE GOLF COURSE
East Lake Golf Course, home of the East Lake Cup, is the oldest golf course in Atlanta. Apart from the home event, it also hosts the TOUR Championship, the main event of the PGA Playoffs for the FedEx Cup. The course measures 7,346 yards and has a slope rating of 144 and a course rating of 76.2.

ABOUT THE ISLEWORTH VICTORY (OCT. 17-19)
ASU shot 11-under 853 (277-292-284) to top Illinois who finished at 9-under 855 (289-284-282) to win the Isleworth Invitational. Sophomore Cameron Sisk (tied for fifth) continued his great play to start the 2021-22 season with a 4-under 212 (67-68-77). Freshman Preston Summerhays (tied for eighth) was solid with a 3-under 213 (67-74-72) and tied for eighth, while David Puig tied for 13th with a 1-over 217 (70-76-71). Sisk and Puig tied for tournament lead with 14 birdies. It marked ASU's first Eastern Time Zone tournament win since the Golf World/Palmetto Dunes held at Hilton Head (Nov. 15-17, 1991).

15 WINS
The Isleworth win was the 15th team victory in Matt Thurmond's six years at Arizona State. It has won tournaments in Florida, Hawaii, California, Arizona, Texas, Mexico and Oregon.

CAMERON SISK MAN ON FIRE
Cameron Sis is  the first ASU golfer to be recognized as the Ben Hogan Award Golfer of the Month in September. A native of San Diego, Calif., he was named Pac-12 Golfer of the Month after grabbing a victory and logging a runner-up finish in two events. The senior began the collegiate season by winning the Maridoe Collegiate Invitational in a sudden-death playoff following a 7-under par score of 209 (70-66-73) over 54 holes. That same week, he finished tied for second place at the Olympia Fighting Illini Invitational with a 2-under, 208 (71-69-68) to finish two shots off the lead. For the month of September, Sisk recorded a stroke average of 69.50 over six rounds.

LINEUP
Cameron Sisk: Sisk was awarded the September Ben Hogan Award and Pac-12 Golfer of the Month following his individual victory at Maridoe Collegiate Invitational  and a second-place finish at the Fighting Illini Invitational.

Preston Summerhays: Freshman Preston Summerhays has played in all three tournaments throughout the season.

David Puig: Puig this past weekend competed in his first professional tournament at the Acciona Open de España, being awarded low amateur honors. During his Sun Devil play, Puig tied for second with Sisk at the Fighting Illini Invitational earlier this season.

Mason Andersen: Andersen during his Sun Devil career has had 47 tournament starts, played 146 rounds and has had 88 rounds of par or better.

Ryggs Johnston: Ryggs Johnson placed third in the NCAA Championship this past year. Johnston is also on the 2021-22 Haskins Award Preseason Watch List including David Puig.
