Champions on the Charles

Oct 24, 2021

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Racing for the first time this fall, Stanford women's rowing won the title in the women's championship eight division at the Head of the Charles Regatta.

The Cardinal crossed the line with a time of 15:41.724, just shy of seven seconds ahead of second-place Princeton and nine seconds clear of third-place Yale. The win was a start-to-finish triumph for Stanford, which not only led at each of the four checkpoints but also posted the fastest split at each of the first three stages.

Stanford also saw two alumnae boats in action, with the Cardinal placing fifth and 11th overall. The top Stanford vessel was nine seconds off the lead, finishing in 16:58.396, while the latter boat stopped the clock at 17:38.875.
