2022 USC Men's Volleyball Schedule Unveiled
The 2022 schedule for the USC men's volleyball team has been unveiled and it features 15 home matches at the Galen Center. Ten of the Trojans' matches will be televised by Pac-12 Network.
Besides its 12-match slate against Mountain Pacific Sports Federation opponents (UCLA, Stanford, BYU, Pepperdine, Grand Canyon, Concordia), the Trojans will face such non-conference foes as the Big West's UC Irvine, Long Beach State, Cal State Northridge and UC San Diego along with George Mason, Princeton, Erskine, Vanguard and Menlo College.
USC will open its season at the UCSB Asics Invitational on Jan. 6-8 and also will participate in the Pac-12/Big Ten Challenge at UCLA on Jan. 21-22 (versus Penn State and Ohio State).
Troy's televised contests include home matches versus UC Irvine, UC San Diego, UC Santa Barbara, Pepperdine, BYU and UCLA, road matches at Stanford (twice) and UCLA and the Pac-12/Big Ten Challenge encounter against Penn State.
Fifteen players return from last year's roster, including starters at 3 positions and the libero. Key returnees include setter Chris Hall and libero Cole Paxson, both 3-year starters, and outside hitter Brandon Browning, a 2-year starter. Among the newcomers are UCLA graduate transfer Sam Kobrine, who likely will play outside hitter.
USC will play in a trio of fall tournaments, beginning with the Long Beach State Tournament this Saturday (Oct. 30). The Trojans will host the USC Fall Tournament on Nov. 6 and then will participate in the UCLA Fall Tournament on Nov. 12-13.
