Beavers Drop Contest to Washington, 2-1

CORVALLIS, Ore.  – The Oregon State women's soccer team fell to Washington in Corvallis, Ore. on Thursday, 2-1, suffering its second loss at home during the 2021 campaign. With the result, the Beavers are now 11-6 (3-6 Pac-12) on the season. 
 
Oregon State's defense held the Huskies off the board until Washington broke through in the 37th minute of play to take the 1-0 lead into the half.

In the second, freshman McKenna Martinez drove to the net and scored an unassisted goal in the 60th minute to tie the score, 1-1. The Richland, Wash. native marked her 10th goal of the season and fourth during league play. Washington sealed the victory in the 78th minute off a Husky corner.
 
The Beavers tallied eight shots on goal out of 10 shots total and took five corner kicks. Between the pipes senior Bridgette Skiba notched seven saves.
