Oct 28, 2021

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The No. 3 Oregon State men's soccer team shutout Stanford, 1-0, notching its sixth shutout of the season in Corvallis, Ore. on Thursday. The Beavers improve to 10-1-2 (5-0-1 Pac-12). Earlier this season, the Beavers had tied, 2-2, with Stanford on the road.

"I'm just really, really proud from start to finish," said head coach Terry Boss. "The guys stepped up. We had a big win last week against a great team and knew we had another great team coming in. We're missing a couple pieces, a couple injuries, and guys stepped up and filled those roles. I was really proud of the performance from start to finish from the whole group."

After a scoreless first half, redshirt senior Tyrone Mondi scored the sole goal of the match with a touch off his right foot in the 48th minute. Sophomore Mouhameth Thiam had the assist that set the Bloemfontein, South Africa native up for his eighth goal of the season and third during conference play.

The Beavers' defense held the Cardinal to six shots as junior Adrian Fernandez earned his 20th career solo shutout with four saves.

OSU tallied two shots on goal out of 10 shots total and took six corner kicks throughout the game as all 11 starters clocked 90 minutes on the field.
