USTA SoCal Hosting Southern California Intercollegiates at USC’s Marks Stadium

Oct 28, 2021

The 64th annual Southern California Intercollegiates is being held at USC's Marks Stadium this week, featuring singles and doubles action for men's tennis student-athletes from 11 different universities. Two Trojans will participate in the event, with Ryder Jackson and Paul Barretto lined up for duty in the singles and doubles draws. Qualifying action takes place on Thursday (Oct. 28) with the main draw running Friday through Sunday (Oct. 29-31).

This is junior Ryder Jackson's second appearance at the event, having reached the singles final and winning the doubles title alongside teammate Bradley Frye when the tournament was last held in 2019. For grad transfer Paul Barretto, this will be his first action at the event as he continues in his first season as a Trojan. Barretto and Jackson paired up to great success last week at the ITA Southwest Regional Championships, reaching the semifinals at the event in Malibu.

In addition to USC, this year's participating schools at the Southern California Intercollegiates are: Azusa Pacific, Biola, Chapman, Concordia, Grand Canyon, Portland, SMU, UC Santa Barbara, San Diego and UCLA.
