Brzykcy Wins Pac-12 Goalkeeper of Week Honors

Senior goalkeeper Lauren Brzykcy was selected the Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Week for the third time this season after recording shutouts against Stanford and California.

Brzykcy, who hails from San Clemente, Calif., picked up her eighth shutout of the year on Thursday against Stanford, making four saves against the No. 2 offense in the Pac-12 during UCLA's 1-0 win. Against California on Sunday, she added two saves on 13 shots and played 104 shutout minutes to record her ninth clean sheet. The shutout put Brzykcy in a tie for the Pac-12 lead with nine solo shutouts. She also has one shared. She lowered her goals against average to 0.50 and holds a Pac-12 best 15 wins. With the victory, the Bruins remained unbeaten at 15-0-3 and in contention for a second-straight Pac-12 title.
