Stubbe Earns Second Pac-12 Freshman of the Week Honor
TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona freshman opposite Puk Stubbe has been named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. This is Stubbe's second time earning Freshman of the Week honors.
Stubbe had a career weekend for Arizona, averaging 4.83 kills/set and hitting .344 on 29 kills to lead the Wildcats to two straight-set wins over then-No. 15 Stanford and California. Against California, Stubbe recorded career highs of 17 kills while hitting .517. The freshman was Arizona's second-leading scorer against Stanford with 12 kills. She also tallied seven digs, two blocks, and an assist against the Cardinal. In addition, Stubbe earned her third double-double of her career against Cal with 17 kills and 10 digs.
This season, Stubbe is third on the team with 211 kills and 2.60 kills/set. She is averaging 0.41 blocks and 1.78 digs per set. Stubbe ranks second among Pac-12 freshman in kills and third in kills/set.
Stubbe and the Wildcats will head to the Pacific Northwest to take on No. 21 Washington State on Friday, November 5 at 6 p.m. MST and No. 12 Washington on Sunday, November 7 at 1 p.m. MST.
