Cats Ranked 15th in WBCA Coaches Poll

Nov 3, 2021

TUCSON, Ariz. – The Arizona women's basketball team is ranked 15th to start the year in the WBCA Coaches Poll, the WBCA announced on Wednesday morning.

The Wildcats' ranking matches their second-highest preseason ranking in the coaches poll, behind their 2020-21 preseason rank (8th) and tied with their 1997-98 season preseason rank (15th). Arizona is one of four Pac-12 teams in the top 15 with Stanford at No. 2, Oregon at No. 9 and UCLA at No. 14 while Oregon State checks in at No. 18. Other Arizona opponents in the top-25 include No. 6 Louisville and No. 21 Texas.

Arizona finds itself ranked in both the preseason AP and WBCA Coaches Polls for just the sixth time in program history.

Fans can catch the Wildcats in action on Friday, Nov. 5, at 6:30 p.m. (MST) when they take on Arizona Christian in the final exhibition of the year. Arizona is then set to begin regular season play in the McKale Center on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 5 p.m. against CSUN.
