KONA, Hawaii – Freshman Madelyn Gamble posted her third top-20 finish of the fall the lead the way for the Washington State women's golf team at the 2021 Pac-12 Preview. Gamble ended the tournament in a tie for 19th after carding 5-over, 224 through three rounds at the Nanea Golf Club in Kailua Kona, Hawaii.
Gamble capped off 54 holes of play at the 2021 Pac-12 Preview by shooting 2-over, 75 in Wednesday's third round. The Pleasant Hill, California native shot even-par on a team-best 39 holes through three rounds, which was the third-most by a golfer at the tournament.
As a team, the Cougars finished the 2021 Pac-12 Preview in 10th place, as WSU posted a three-round score of 910 (+34). Washington State finished a head of California, which is ranked 37th in the nation, and one-stroke behind No. 20-ranked Arizona State. The Cougs ended their three-day stay at the Nanea Golf Club by carding 11-over par, 303 in the third round.
Senior Darcy Habgood finished her final tournament of the fall by carding 5-over par, 78 in the third round to end the Pac-12 Preview in a tie for 35th on the player leaderboard. Habgood ended the tournament with a three-round score of 230 (+11). The Australian native led WSU in par-4 scoring, as Habgood shot 4-under on par fours. Junior Jiye Ham also shot 2-under on par-4 scoring to help her finish three places behind Habgood on the player leaderboard.
Freshman Emily Cadwell concluded the Pac-12 Preview in a tie for 44th, while senior Amy Chu shot even-par, 73, in the third round to finish the tournament in a tie for 52nd.
Stanford captured the 2021 Pac-12 Preview team title, as the Cardinal posted a three-round score of 875 (-1). Southern California's Katherine Muzi won the tournament's individual title after she carded 9-under, 210.
