USC’s Stefan Dostanic, Samuel Rubell Engage In ITA National Fall Championships Action
USC juniors Stefan Dostanic and Samuel Rubell are locked in for more fall competition this week, having earned their place at the ITA National Fall Championships in San Diego, Calif. The Trojan duo are teamed up for doubles action after the pair won the ITA Southwest Regional crown just over a week ago. Ranked #68 in the nation, Dostanic is also tabbed for duty in singles, opening up his bid for a fall singles title when action kicks off tomorrow (Nov. 4) with morning matches at Barnes Tennis Center.
It's Dostanic's second soiree at the ITA National Fall event, having made his debut there as a freshman when the event was last held. He got a first-round singles win before falling in the Round of 32 to a top-20 foe. He pulled double duty in that one, too, teamed up in doubles with Riley Smith for a Round of 32 win and then a Round of 16 defeat.
This season so far, Dostanic is 16-3 overall in singles play. He and Rubell are a perfect 5-0 and are the No. 8 seeded pair in the doubles draw this week.
