LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The Wildcats started strong in the final tournament of the fall season with all four participating Wildcats advancing to the quarterfinals in singles competition.
Senior Filip Malbasic tied former teammate Alejandro Reguant for most singles wins in program history with his pair of three-set victories in the first two rounds of the tournament. Carlos Hassey took care of business in his first two rounds with wins over players from Oregon and Cal Poly.
Senior Conner Olsen took down tough competition to earn his place in the quarterfinals, taking down the fourth-seeded Isaac Becroft from Loyola Marymount in the second round. His doubles partner Jett Middleton also came away with a big win in the second round against the third-seeded Linus Carlsson Halldin and won in a three-set brawl.
