BERKELEY – The 2021-22 season will officially get under way Tuesday night when the Cal women's basketball team hosts Sacramento State at Haas Pavilion. The Bears and Hornets will tip off at 7:00 p.m., fans can watch the broadcast on Cal Live Stream or catch the action via live stats at Stabroadcast.com
Tuesday's is open to the public, fans can purchase their tickets here . All fans 12 and older attending the game will be required to show proof of a full COVID-19 vaccination and a photo ID prior to entry.

- Last time out: The Bears went 2-0 in their exhibition slate thanks to a convincing 79-32 win over visiting Saint Martin's last Thursday night. The Bears finished the preseason schedule with back-to-back double-digit wins.
- Single Digit Quarters: In the win over the Warriors the Bears held Saint Martin's to single digits in the first, second, and fourth quarter. The Bears have held their opponents to 10 or fewer points four times in the preseason.
- Double-double Daniels: Sophomore Dalayah Daniels had a big impact in the exhibition win over Saint Martins. The Seattle native finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds. She scored six of Cal's first eight points. The Bear's had three players record double-doubles in the two exhibition wins. Evelien Lutje Schipholt and Jadyn Bush had double-doubles in the win over Westmont.
- Curry Goes for 20…again: Freshman guard Jayda Curry once again led the Bears in scoring, finishing with a game-high 20 points against Saint Martin's. The Southern California native averaged 21.5 points, while shooting 50.0 percent from the field in the two exhibition contests.
- Showing off the depth: Against the Saints on Thursday the Bear's reserves got into the action. Cal's bench outscored the Saint Martin's reserves 36-8. In the last two seasons, Cal has 11 wins when the bench outscores the opponent's bench.
ABOUT THE HORNETS
Tuesday is the official beginning of the Mark Campbell era in Sacramento, the longtime Oregon assistant was named Sacramento State's new head coach back in April. He takes over a squad that went 3-22 last season. The Hornets do return two of its three leading scorers from last year, including Summer Menke who led Sacramento State with 13.2 points per contest.
Tuesday is the 10th time the Bears and Hornets have squared off. The series dates back to Jan. 15, 1976 when Cal played Sacramento State twice that season. The Hornets took the first four contests, including a 79-29 win over the Bears in Berkeley on Feb. 6, 1976. However, since the 1990s the series has belonged to the Bears who are on a five-game winning streak against the Hornets. In Berkeley, the Bears are 5-3 against Sacramento State.
UP NEXT
Cal will play two games this week, the second taking place across the Bay at the Chase Center, home of the Golden State Warriors, when USF hosts the Bears on Saturday. The Dons and Bears will tip off at 2:30 p.m. with the game being steamed on the WCC Network.
