Charlton and Vandecasteele Bring Home Doubles Title at Jack Kramer Invitational

LOS ANGELES – Oregon men's tennis double's team Joshua Charlton and Quinn Vandecasteele won the doubles draw of the Jack Kramer Invitational today.
How It Happened: The duo handily defeated Arizona (Malbasic/Hassey) in the final with a winning score of 8-4. The No. 1 ranked team in the tournament stormed through the field, with their closest match finishing at 8-6.
The Ducks won two matches on Saturday, after a first round bye. The team beat UCSB's Brady and Masjuan, 8-6, before making quick work of Carlsson-Halldin and Summaria of Pepperdine, 8-4.
In singles play, Charlton advanced to the finals after defeating Marvin Schaber (San Diego) 7-6(5), 6-4. Charlton later fell in the finals to Pepperdine's Corrado Summaria, 6-4, 6-4. Vandecasteele made it to the semifinals by defeating Arizona's Filip Malbasic with a straight-set 6-4, 6-3 win. He eventually dropped his semifinals match to Summaria on Sunday morning, 6-4, 6-3.
