ATLANTA – UCLA juniors Jaime Jaquez Jr. and Johnny Juzang have been named to the 50-person preseason watch list for the 2022 Naismith Trophy, presented annually by the Atlanta Tipoff Club to the nation's best NCAA Division I men's basketball student-athlete.

Jaquez Jr. and Juzang join USC's Isaiah Mobley and Oregon's Will Richardson as the four Pac-12 representatives on the 50-man watch list for the Naismith Trophy.

Jaquez Jr. and Juzang, a pair of preseason first-team All-Pac-12 selections, were honored on the 20-man watch list for the 2022 NABC Preseason Player of the Year Award last week.

Juzang, a 6-foot-7 guard from Tarzana, Calif., was the Bruins' leading scorer last season, having averaged 16.0 points per game in 27 contests (26 starts). Juzang shot 44.1 percent overall and 35.3 percent from 3-point territory. He averaged a team-best 22.8 points in six NCAA Tournament games, as the Bruins earned their first trip to the NCAA Final Four since 2008.

Jaquez Jr., a 6-foot-7 guard/forward from Camarillo, Calif., registered 12.6 points and a team-best 6.1 rebounds per game as a sophomore in 2020-21. He shot 48.6 percent from the field in all 32 games (32 starts) and has played in all 63 games for the Bruins during the previous two seasons.

UCLA hosts CSU Bakersfield in the regular-season opener for both programs this Tuesday evening. Game time is 8 p.m. (PT) in Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom.
