Men’s Golf Completes First Day In Pebble Beach
PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – The Oregon State men's golf team is in 16th place after 18 holes of play Monday at the Saint Mary's Invitational.
The three-day tournament is being held at the Poppy Hills Golf Club in a par-71, 7,002-yard course layout.
The Beavers posted a 10-over 294 on the day, with round two starting Tuesday morning via tee times at 8 a.m. PT.
Mateo Fuenmayor leads OSU's contingent, shooting a par-71 on the day. He birdied six holes on the day, including four on the front nine; 1, 2, 7 and 9. The 71 total marks a season-best round for Fuenmayor, who finished at 1-over 72 on the first day of the Oregon State Invitational in October. Fuenmayor will enter day two's play tied for 32nd.
Jackson Lake finished his day at 2-over 73. He birdied two holes, at nine and 17. Lake ended the day tied for 51st.
Nolan Thoroughgood will enter day two play after a 3-over 74. He birdied four holes, at 7, 9, 12 and 14. Thoroughgood is in a tie for 62nd.
Carson Enright follows in a tie for 83rd after posting a 5-over 76 on Monday. He posted birdies on 5, 9 and 10.
Carson Barry is at 6-over 77 after one day. He'll enter Tuesday tied for 90th after finishing with birdies at holes 9, 10 and 15.
