Lacrosse Inks Seven in 2022 Class

TEMPE, Ariz. - Sun Devil Lacrosse earned the signatures of seven talented prospects as a part of the 2022 signing class. 

Coming off a season in which they set program records in wins (10), conference wins (5), and earned their first Pac-12 Conference Tournament victory during a historic 2021 campaign, Arizona State continues to build momentum. Heading into their third season in Tempe, Head Coach Tim McCormack and his staff had the chance to establish strong relationships with this class. The result was seven incoming prospects that fit the culture of Sun Devil Lacrosse, joining the team for the 2022-23 season.

Keeley Cleland- Midfielder - (Jacksonville, Florida)
 
Keeley Cleland is a part of the 2022 Sun Devil Lacrosse signing class. Cleland comes to Tempe from Florida, where she attended Episcopal School of Jacksonville, where she was named captain of the lacrosse team for her senior year.  She was a key player in the midfield where she was titled Episcapol Varsity Midfielder of the Year in 2020 and 2021. During her junior year she was strong on both sides of the ball scoring 39 goals and creating 24 caused turnovers. Cleland provided support on the draw circle where she collected 66 draw controls. She also used her willingness and aggressiveness to fight for the ball by collecting 90 ground balls. Cleland's athleticism and skill earned her a spot on the US National Team Development Program and was a US Lacrosse All-American in 2021. She played club for Lax Maniax. She will be majoring in Psychology. 

Teagan Ng - Midfielder - ( Richmond, British Columbia)
 
Teagan Ng is a part of the 2022 Sun Devil Lacrosse signing class. Ng comes to Tempe from British Columbia, where she attended R.A. McMath Secondary School. Ng played for team BC Lacrosse where current players Gigi and Bella Gaspar as well as Alexa Ford played. Ng is a multi-sport athlete where she competed in Basketball, Soccer, Lacrosse, and Box Lacrosse, earning achievements in all 4 sports. Ng was born with lacrosse in her blood, it has been in her family for four generations. In 2019, she was awarded the U15 Provincial Championships Gold Medal as well as the Tournament MVP. Ng has also put in hard work off the field and into the classroom receiving Principal's Honour Roll four years in a row. She is majoring in Kinesiology. 

Colleen Ryan - Defender -  (Cortlandt Manor, New York)
 
Colleen Ryan is a part of the 2022 Sun Devil Lacrosse signing class. Ryan comes to Tempe from New York, where she attended Hendrick Hudson High School. Being a strong and aggressive competitor, Ryan averages around four ground balls a game. Using her skill and lacrosse I.Q. she creates havoc for the attackers averaging 3 caused turnovers a game. In 2020 she earned a spot on the GAIT Top 20 Showcase All-Star Team. Ryan is on the 2022 Under Armour All-American Lacrosse Senior Watchlist. She is a multi-sport athlete, competing in Basketball, Tennis, and Lacrosse. Ryan is a hard worker in the classroom as well. She was in the National Honor Society and the New York State Mathematics Honor Society in 2021. She received High Honor Roll from 2018-2021 and was in the New York State Hispanic Honor Society in 2020. She is majoring in Business.

Kate Mayle - Attacker - (San Carlos, California)
 
Kate Mayle is a part of the 2022 Sun Devil Lacrosse signing class. Mayle comes to Tempe from California, where she attended St.Ignatius College Preparatory. Earning a starting spot her freshman year, Mayle made her presence known by scoring 25 goals and having 8 assists. Before going into her sophomore year, she earned a spot on the Under Armor All American team. She received a spot on the Top 2022 Watchlist for Lacrosse Magazine. She played club for STEPS California. Mayle is not the only lacrosse player in her family, her sister Ally played lacrosse for Boston College in 2017 when they made it to the NCAA Championship and her brother Sean played for Denver all four years and was on the team when they won the NCAA Championship in 2015. She is majoring in Psychology.

Claire Beucher - Midfielder - (Germantown, Maryland)
 
Claire Beucher is a part of the 2022 Sun Devil Lacrosse signing class. Beucher comes to Tempe from Maryland, where she attended Our Lady of Good Counsel. Buecher is a force on all ends of the field which allowed her to be a starter on the varsity team her sophomore year. Her varsity team was nationally ranked at 16. Beucher proved her starting position by winning 31 draw controls. She also showed no mercy on defense and created 32 caused turnovers and collected 49 ground balls. While only playing 18 games, Beucher became a threat to other teams by having 26 goals and 17 assists. She was selected to compete in the Under Armour150 as well as the US Lacrosse National Tournament DC Metro Team 1 in 2021. Beucher is also a force in the classroom. She is a member of the National Honor Society as well as being an AP Scholar. She is also a member of the National Merit Commended Scholar. She played club for Rebels 22 Black. She is majoring in Mechanical Engineering. 
 
Cassidy Doffermyre - Midfielder -  (Charlotte, North Carolina)
 
Cassidy Doffermyre is a part of the 2022 Sun Devil Lacrosse signing class. Doffermyre comes to Tempe from North Carolina, where she attended Providence Day School. Doffermyre is a multi-sport athlete competing in indoor track and field where she won the state championship two times, was on the swim team when they won the state championship and lacrosse where she was announced MVP of her team in 2021. Doffermyre was also named captain of the varsity lacrosse team both her junior and senior year. Using her quick speed and strength, Doffermyre became the highest scorer of her team when she scored 93 goals within 21 games. She used her determination and fighting spirit and collected 54 draw controls and 71 ground balls. Doffermyre became All-Conference First team in 2019 and 2021 while being named All State First Team in 2021. She is a member of the National Honor Society. She is majoring in Biomedical Sciences. 

Jordyn Behar - Attacker - (Mineola, New York)
 
Jordyn Behar is a part of the 2022 Sun Devil Lacrosse signing class. Behar comes to Tempe from New York, where she attended The Wheatley School. Behar is a multi-sport athlete, playing soccer, basketball, and lacrosse. She led Nassau County in total points as a freshman having 60 goals and 63 assists and is now ranked second on Long Island for total points. Behar received All Conference her freshman year. She uses her strength and knowledge of the game to make defenders fear her. Behar's junior year was just as strong as she led Long Island in the regular season, having 66 goals and 43 assists. She played club for Team Elevate. She is majoring in Forensic Psychology. 

In addition to a loaded signing class of seven, Sun Devil Lacrosse will have several others joining the program. Stay tuned for more information on a stacked group of walk-ons that will add to an already balanced roster.
