Nov 12, 2021

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Freshman McKenna Martinez was named Pac-12 Second-Team and All-Freshman Team, the league announced Friday.

Martinez led the Beavers in scoring with 12 goals, including the game-winners against Idaho, Central Connecticut State, and North Dakota, in her debut season donning the Orange & Black. The forward started in all 19 games, clocking 1299 minutes on the pitch. The Richland, Wash. native earned 28 points and marked four assists on the season. Amongst all Pac-12 competitors, Martinez was tied for third in goals scored, sat fourth in the points category, and was fifth in the shots category, marking 65 this season.

The forward joins four other OSU freshman to garner the All-Freshman team nod while becoming the 11th Oregon State women's soccer player to be named Second-Team Pac-12 in the history of the program, following Sydney Studer in 2020. Martinez finishes the season third in the record books for freshman goals scored and freshman total points.
With the help of the Martinez, Beavers went 11-7-1 (3-7-1 Pac-12), tying for the most wins in a single season since 2011.
