Charlton and Klöv-Nilsson advance to Doubles Final: Each Defeat Washington in Singles Play

EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon men's tennis doubles team of Joshua Charlton and Jesper Klöv-Nilsson advanced to the finals of the doubles draw at the Duck Invite Saturday, the pair will face Portland (Neos/Yoshida) at 9 a.m. on Sunday. After the match, they will play against one another in the singles finals of the Green Draw.
 
How it Happened: Charlton and Klöv-Nilsson won back-to-back matches to start the day on Saturday, with impressive wins over Portland's Brown/Hibi 8-4, and  Penzlin/Tvedt 8-6.
 
In the afternoon singles play, Klöv-Nilsson cruised to a straight-set 6-3, 6-1 win over Rikuto Yamaguchi from Washington. One court over, his doubles teammate Charlton battled to a 6-1, 7-5 win over Washington's Nedim Suko. The finals of the singles Green Draw will pit the pair against each other in the final.
 
The yellow singles draw saw two Ducks advance to the semifinals, before falling today. Ryoma Matsushita fell to Nikolas Tvedt, with Avi Shugar battling it out before a 7-6(9), 6-3 loss to Oscar Brown.
