EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon cross country teams have earned at-large bids to the NCAA Championships as the entire field for the national meet was announced Saturday afternoon. The official selections come one day after the NCAA West Region Championships where the UO women and men finished third and fourth, respectively.
The Men of Oregon advance to the national meet for the 45th time in program history while the Women of Oregon will be making their 32nd NCAA appearance as a team.
The 2021 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships will be Saturday, Nov. 20, at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Fla. The national meet will air live on ESPNU and be available through the ESPN app. The women's 6K will start at 7:20 a.m. (PT) with the men's 10K to follow at 8:10 a.m.
The Women of Oregon finished third at Friday's NCAA West Regional in Sacramento, Calif., led by top-10 finishes from Alessia Zarbo (fourth) and Aneta Konieczek (sixth). The UO women posted three all-region efforts with Zarbo, Konieczek and Emilie Girard (23rd).
Paced by all-region performances from Cooper Teare and Aaron Bienenfeld, the Men of Oregon finished fourth at Friday's meet. In their first 10K of the season, Teare and Bienenfeld raced to third and fourth, respectively, in the always strong West field. The men's race featured six teams ranked in the USTFCCCA top 30.
