SEATTLE -- NCAA Championships week opened up with the USTFCCCA officially announcing the All-Region honorees in cross country, as well as the final batch of national rankings prior to the championship meet on Saturday, Nov. 20, in Tallahassee, Fla.
Washington will go into the NCAA meet ranked No. 12 on the men's side and No. 23 on the women's side. Both squads earned automatic bids to the meet with runner-up finishes at West Regionals last Friday in Sacramento.
All-Region honors are earned with a top-25 finish at the Regional Championships.
The top four Husky men's finishers earned All-West Region. Kieran Lumb, the West Region Champion, earns the honor along with Brian Fay, Leo Daschbach, and Joe Waskom. Fay placed sixth at the championships, Daschbach was the No. 9 placer, and Waskom came in 23rd.
The women put their full scoring five in the top-25 to all earn All-West Region. Allie Schadler led the squad in 10th-place and Haley Herberg was right behind in 11th-place. Then three Dawgs crossed as a pack within one second of each other. Madison Heisterman was 20th, Sophie Cantine was 21st, and Naomi Smith placed 22nd.
