USC Swimming Claims Eight Events To Open Art Adamson Invite

Seniors Isabelle Odgers and Calypso Sheridan led a Trojan sweep in the women's 200y IM during day one of the Art Adamson Invite on Wednesday, Nov. 17, in College Station, Texas. Juniors Aela Janvier and Nicole Pavlopoulou finished 3-4, respectively to round out the Trojan 1-2-3-4 finish.

The Trojans faced swimmers from Texas A&M (M/W), Air Force (M), Nevada (W), TCU (M/W) and LSU (M/W).

The Women of Troy opened up the evening of finals with a win in the 200y free relay, as Anicka Delgado, Laticia Transom, Sheridan and Kaitlyn Dobler combined for a 1:28.35. On the men's side, Artem Selin, Nikola Miljenic, Mateo Parker and Max Saunders posted a 1:17.95 for first.

After securing the second overall seed during prelims, Austrian Olympian Marlene Kahler returned to take the 500y free in 4:43.35.

One the men's side, Victor Johansson led a USC sweep in the 500y free, taking the event in 4:14.48 for Troy. Teammate Alexei Sancov was second in 4:17.88, and freshman Daniel Matheson was third in 4:19.11.

Junior Odgers led a 1-2-3-4 Trojan finish in the women's 200y IM, posting a personal best 1:55.89 for the win. Redshirt senior Sheridan was second (1:58.67), Janvier was third (1:59.01) and Pavlopoulou rounded out the field for USC, finishing fourth (1:59.56).

Purdue transfer Trent Pellini finished second in the men's 200y IM, touching in 1:44.29 for a personal best. Freshman Ben Dillard was fourth in the event, posting a 1:44.55.

Sophomore Dobler led a Trojan sweep in the 50y free, touching in 22.09 for first. Teammate Delgado was second in 22.19 while junior Laticia Transom was third in 22.42.

On the men's side, USC's Selin finished second in the 50, posting a personal best 19.38. Redshirt senior Miljenic was third in 19.39.

USC rounded out the evening with wins in both the women's and men's 400y medley relays. The quartet of Sheridan, Dobler, Delgado and Transom finished first in 3:31.79 to take the event. Vaggelis Makrygiannis, Trent Pellini, Miljenic and Sancov closed out the evening in 3:06.12 for first.
