Bergmark Named To Academic All-District Team

BERKELEY -- California junior middle blocker Bella Bergmark has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 Volleyball Team. The Larkspur, California native earned second team honors, recognizing top student-athletes for their performances on the court and in the classroom. 

It is Bergmark's first CoSIDA Academic All-District selection. She is currently second on the team with 199 kills on the season and leads the Bears (Fifth in Pac-12) with a .376 hitting percentage. On the defensive side, Bergmark also leads Cal in blocks with 84. She was named to all three All-Tournament Teams beginning the 2021 season. 

Bergmark carries a 3.54 GPA as a nutritional sciences, physiology & metabolism major.  

During the spring season Bergmark started all 22 matches at middle blocker and led the team with a .296 attack percentage while coming in fourth on the squad with 106 kills.

Seven student-athletes were selected to the All-District 8 First Team and eight were tabbed for the Second Team. District 8 covers Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawai'i, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Canada.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA and play in at least 50 percent of her team's competitions. Freshmen and first-year transfers are ineligible.
