CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State offensive lineman and kicker Everett Hayes have both been named Academic All-District 8 as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday.
The two are now eligible to be named Academic All-Americans.
Eldridge has started all 10 games for the Beavers and 21 over three seasons after transferring from Arizona. A literacy, learning and leadership graduate, he is a two-time Pac-12 Offensive Lineman of the Week selection, earning the honor once in 2020 and once in 2021. He was a 2020 All-Pac-12 First Team selection and was also selected to the conference's Academic Honor Roll.
Hayes, meanwhile, is a mechanical engineering major who owns the longest field goal in the Pac-12 this season at 60 yards at Colorado. It's tied for the second-longest field goal in conference history. The sophomore has connected on eight field goals this season and leads the Pac-12 with 49 touchbacks. He was also a 2020 Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll selection.
District 8 comprises the states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawai'i, Oregon, Utah and Washington as well as Canada. Honorees from each of the eight districts are now eligible for All-American honors, which are set to be announced Dec. 15.
The Beavers conclude their 2021 home schedule Saturday when hosting Arizona State at Reser Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. PT. The game will air live on ESPN.
