STANFORD, Calif. - No. 4 Stanford cruised to a 25-4 opening win on Friday on the first day of the MPSF Championship, featuring 13 different goal scorers.

The Cardinal advances to Saturday's semifinal where it will play rival and No. 1 seed California at 9:30 a.m.

No. 4 Stanford 24 - Austin College 5

It didn't take long for the Cardinal to assert its dominance over the Roos, lurching ahead 5-1 within the first four minutes of the opening period.

After holding a 14-4 lead at the half, the third and fourth quarters also belonged to the Cardinal, outscoring Austin College 10-1.

Stanford shot a blistering 67%, converting 24 of its 36 attempts. 

Pittman and Nelson's three goals each are both season highs. Liam Harrison made his first career start between the pipes with 10 saves.
