Bruins Sweep Wildcats in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Arizona fell to the Bruins on Sunday afternoon. Jaelyn Hodge led all attackers with 14 kills and recorded a career high hitting percentage of .379. The Cats out-blocked UCLA 10 blocks to none but it wasn't enough to keep them down.
 
Set 1 | Arizona – 22, UCLA - 25
The Bruins took the first set 25-22. Arizona had an early lead, but UCLA took the lead after three tie scores and held the lead the rest of the set. Hodge recorded six kills to lead the Arizona offense. The Wildcats' defense came out strong, tallying five blocks led by Zyonna Fellows with one solo block and two block assists.
 
Set 2 | Arizona - 14, UCLA - 25
UCLA won the second set 25-14 to take a 2-0 lead in the match. Arizona trailed the Bruins the entire set. Puk Stubbe recorded two blocks, but it wasn't enough to keep UCLA's attack from hitting .320 compared to Arizona's .143 hitting percentage.  
 
Set 3 | Arizona - 24, UCLA - 26
The Cats forced the third set into extra points, but UCLA won 26-24 after 14 tie scores in the final set. Hodge had six kills again followed by Stubbe with five kills. After back-and-forth points for most of the set, Arizona took a three-point lead to bring the Cats to the set point. UCLA came back and forced the set into extra points before securing the match win.

Arizona heads to No. 16 Oregon on Tuesday, November 23 at 7 p.m. MST and then returns home on Saturday, November 27 to host Arizona State at 12 p.m. MST.
